About the Presenters:
Born in Taiwan, Yunwen
Wang received her Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro. She is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, a
member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and is
trained and certified in the Compton P-ESL accent reduction training program.
She has worked as a speech-language pathologist in both schools and hospitals.
Miss Wang has both personal and professional experience in the field of accent
modification. Miss Wang's unique background means she has experienced accent
modification from 'both sides of the desk', allowing her to gain valuable
perspective into the needs of her clients.
Edward Haag received his
Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree from Kent State University. He developed a
passion for the field of accent modification after gaining extensive experience
as an educator in both the United States and abroad. Having acquired fluency in
Mandarin Chinese after living in Taiwan for six years, Edward knows well the
challenges and obstacles that second language speakers face on the road to
perfecting their English communication skills. In addition to having lived and
worked internationally, his experience working in both corporate and academic
environments has provided him with the skills and knowledge necessary to work
with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds.
